Crestview FFA Helps Feed the Hungry

Crestview High School FFA students have an opportunity to team up with non-profit Meals of Hope and make a positive community impact in Ashland and Richland counties.  Our goal is to assemble 80,000 nutritionally fortified meals for the food insecure residents of Ashland and Richland counties.

  • In Ashland County, over 3,400 go to school without a proper meal.

  • More than 1 in 6 people in Ohio struggle with hunger.

  • 78% of children receive government assistance in Ashland and Richland counties.

At a cost of just under $0.25 per meal, we can provide comforting, healthy food to families that would otherwise go without. The Crestview FFA plans to host a packing event with the entire Crestview Middle School student body on February 24, 2017.  The Crestview FFA chapter needs to raise $20,000 in order to create 80,000 meals.

Last year the Crestview FFA hosted a packing event with the high school student body and packed 50,000 meals which were distributed to the following local food pantries:

Associated Charities, Salvation Army, American Legion Post 88,
Plymouth-Shiloh food bank, Faith UMC, Harmony House, The Shelter, Catholic
Charities, Hillsdale Cares, Stone Lutheran Church, St. Edwards, and the
F.I.S.H. of Shelby.

If you are interesting in making a donation to help us reach our goal of packing 80,000 meals please contact Joel Albright – email: albright.joel@crestviewschools.net or phone: 419-895-1700.
